Microsoft CELA

Building a shared digital system for an enterprise ecosystem spanning teams, agencies, and future initiatives.

PROBLEM

An established brand without a shared digital operating layer.

Microsoft CELA already had an approved brand and a growing digital ecosystem, but its components, templates, and content patterns had become fragmented across active work.

With multiple teams and agencies contributing simultaneously, inconsistency was becoming more than a visual problem. The ecosystem needed a shared foundation that could scale.

OPPORTUNITY

The opportunity was bigger than a component library.

We needed to translate the established CELA brand into a reusable digital system while creating a shared way for multiple teams to design, review, and build within the same ecosystem.

FINDING THE SYSTEM INSIDE THE EXISTING WORK

I began by auditing existing components, templates, and content blocks to identify recurring patterns, unnecessary variation, and opportunities for consolidation.

Rather than introducing a new visual language, the goal was to make the existing brand more coherent, reusable, and scalable across digital experiences.

A SYSTEM ONLY WORKS IF PEOPLE CAN USE IT

With Fueled and another agency contributing to the same ecosystem, adoption became part of the design problem.

I facilitated recurring reviews with Microsoft and the partner agency, created a shared environment for pressure-testing the system against live work, and worked directly with external designers to support implementation and adoption.
